An early morning at the Olympic Stadium was what we were doing on the 6th. There was a good mix of events with the women's shot (we had nobody in it so I wasn't that bothered), the men's discus, the men's 800m, women's 1500m and women's 100m hurdles.
Before the Olympics we were probably looking forward to the hurdles most as Ennis was named in the team to run in them. After a mega quick time in the heptathlon the anticipation grew so imagine our disappointment when she decided not to run. Tiffany Porter ran and made the semis but in all
honesty it wasn't quite the same.
Our women did pretty well in the 1500m with all of them qualifying, the men were rubbish at the 800 apart from Andrew Osagie who got through but the highlight was Lawrence Okoye lobbing a discus miles in the last round to qualify for the final. A good time was had by all.
After that we toddled up the Orbit which is a very strange looking thing but I quite liked it. The only let down being that the viewing platform looks out over London in one direction but the view of the Olympic Park is all blocked. Doh!
After all that we were a bit tired so we went home for a sit down.
